Lungora Magnesium Glycinate Review: The Ingredient Doing the Work

This site is critical of most of what Lungora claims. This article is about the part that holds up, because a review that only finds fault is not a review.

The short version

Magnesium glycinate is a genuinely good form with real evidence for sleep and muscle function. It is also the cheapest ingredient in the bottle.

Why the form matters

Magnesium supplements are not interchangeable. Magnesium oxide is cheap and poorly absorbed, which is why it is the most common form in low-cost multivitamins and also why it gives so many people diarrhoea — the unabsorbed portion draws water into the bowel.

Magnesium glycinate binds magnesium to the amino acid glycine. It absorbs considerably better and is far gentler on the gut. Glycine itself has mild calming properties, which may contribute to the sleep effects people report. Choosing glycinate over oxide is a real formulation decision that costs the manufacturer more, and it is worth crediting.

What the evidence supports

Genuine, if modest. Magnesium is a cofactor in hundreds of enzymatic reactions including muscle contraction, nerve conduction and energy production. Supplementation has reasonable evidence for sleep quality, muscle cramp and general wellbeing — with the clearest effects in people who were deficient, which is common given how many adults consume below recommendations.

Typical supplemental intakes run 200–400 mg of elemental magnesium. That distinction is critical here: glycinate is bulky, so 400 mg elemental requires roughly 2,800 mg of the compound — more than three times what an entire capsule holds, before the other five ingredients get any space.

The honest position

Magnesium glycinate is probably the reason anyone taking this product notices anything at all. Better sleep and fewer night cramps are the most commonly reported experiences, and they are exactly what magnesium would produce.

Which raises the obvious question. A standalone magnesium glycinate supplement with a published elemental dose costs a small fraction of $2.40 a day, and you would know exactly how much you were getting. If the sleep improvement is what you are after, buy that. What you cannot do is buy this product for your lungs and treat the magnesium as a bonus — the magnesium is the product.

Nobody's name is on the bottle

This is easy to miss and worth a minute. Read the official page looking for a manufacturer and you will not find one.

The address published in the footer belongs to ShipOffers, a third-party fulfilment company in Aurora, Colorado. Checkout runs through BuyGoods. Both are real, legitimate businesses — but neither is a supplement brand. They warehouse product and process payments for whoever contracts them.

So there is no company standing behind this formula the way there would be behind an established brand: no quality history, no other products to judge it by, and nobody to escalate to beyond a support address. The page is also labelled ADVERTORIAL at the very top, which is a disclosure most readers scroll straight past.

Independent background reading, none of it selling anything: the FDA dietary supplement overview, MedlinePlus on dietary supplements and CDC quit-smoking resources. For the applied version of this on our own pages, see the formula audit or the Lungora official website reference.

What we would do

Take the ingredient list to a pharmacist before ordering — blood pressure, anticoagulant, diabetes and thyroid medication all intersect with this formula. Buy a peak flow meter and record a baseline fortnight before your first capsule so you have a number rather than an impression. Choose the three-bottle package rather than the six, since ninety days is a fair assessment window and it does not leave four months of capsules outside a 60-day guarantee. And diarise day 50 on the day you order.

How to verify any of this

Every claim above comes from a source you can check yourself: the official order page, the published guarantee terms, the manufacturer’s own artwork, or peer-reviewed literature on each named ingredient. Where an amount is not disclosed by the seller, we say so rather than estimating it. If you find something here that is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will re-check it and re-date the page.

Frequently asked

The package prices are real and the totals multiply correctly. The $179-per-bottle reference price the savings are measured against is not a price anyone has paid.

Sixty days from purchase. Note that the largest package is a 180-day supply, so two thirds of it falls outside the refund window from the moment it arrives.

No. Healthy lungs clean themselves continuously via the mucociliary escalator and alveolar macrophages. There is no accumulated residue for a capsule to dissolve.

Disclaimer. This formula contains butcher's broom, a vasoconstrictor that may raise blood pressure, and both turmeric and coenzyme Q10, which affect anticoagulation in opposite directions. Alpha lipoic acid lowers blood glucose. Take the ingredient list to a pharmacist before ordering, particularly if you take blood pressure, anticoagulant, diabetes or thyroid medication.
