Lungora Review: How to Take It, and What the Directions Leave Out

The directions are as simple as they get: one capsule daily. For this particular combination of ingredients, that simplicity costs the user something.

The short version

Two of the six ingredients are fat-soluble and absorb far better with food. The directions do not mention food or timing.

What the label says

One capsule daily. The page describes this as convenient and easy to incorporate into everyday life, which it is.

What is not stated: whether to take it with food, at what time of day, whether to separate it from other supplements or medication, or whether to take it with or without a fat source.

Why food matters here specifically

CoQ10 is fat-soluble. Absorption improves substantially when it is taken with a meal containing fat — this is one of the best-established practical points about the ingredient. Taken on an empty stomach, considerably less gets in.

Turmeric is also fat-soluble and already has a serious absorption problem. Food helps, though not as much as a proper absorption enhancer would.

Magnesium is gentler with food. The looseness people report is reduced considerably by taking it with a meal.

Three of six ingredients therefore work better with food, and the directions do not say so.

The separation nobody mentions

Magnesium binds to several medications in the gut and impairs their absorption — levothyroxine most notably, but also tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics and bisphosphonates.

The standard advice is to separate them by at least four hours. Someone taking levothyroxine first thing in the morning and this capsule at breakfast could be reducing their thyroid medication’s absorption without any idea they are doing it.

Our practical suggestion: take it with your largest meal, and if you take levothyroxine, keep that meal at least four hours away from your thyroid dose. That single adjustment probably does more for what you get out of this product than anything else in your control.

The vasoconstrictor nobody warns about

Butcher’s broom is the inclusion we would question first, and not only because it has no airway research.

Its evidence base is venous: chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, leg oedema, haemorrhoids. It works by constricting blood vessels to improve venous tone. That is the mechanism, not a side effect.

This product is marketed to adults over 50 — the group most likely to have hypertension and to be taking something for it. A vasoconstrictor that can raise blood pressure and work against antihypertensive treatment belongs on the label with a warning. The official page gives none. If you take anything for blood pressure, this single paragraph is the reason to speak to a pharmacist before ordering.

Independent background reading, none of it selling anything: the FDA dietary supplement overview, WHO on air pollution and CDC quit-smoking resources. For the applied version of this on our own pages, see our full independent review or the Lungora official website reference.

What we would do

Take the ingredient list to a pharmacist before ordering — blood pressure, anticoagulant, diabetes and thyroid medication all intersect with this formula. Buy a peak flow meter and record a baseline fortnight before your first capsule so you have a number rather than an impression. Choose the three-bottle package rather than the six, since ninety days is a fair assessment window and it does not leave four months of capsules outside a 60-day guarantee. And diarise day 50 on the day you order.

How to verify any of this

Every claim above comes from a source you can check yourself: the official order page, the published guarantee terms, the manufacturer’s own artwork, or peer-reviewed literature on each named ingredient. Where an amount is not disclosed by the seller, we say so rather than estimating it. If you find something here that is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will re-check it and re-date the page.

Disclaimer. This formula contains butcher's broom, a vasoconstrictor that may raise blood pressure, and both turmeric and coenzyme Q10, which affect anticoagulation in opposite directions. Alpha lipoic acid lowers blood glucose. Take the ingredient list to a pharmacist before ordering, particularly if you take blood pressure, anticoagulant, diabetes or thyroid medication.
