Lungora Review: Air Quality Matters More Than Any Capsule

Most people worried about their lungs think first about what to put into their body. The larger variable is usually what is already going into it several thousand times a day.

The short version

Indoor and outdoor air exposure affects lung health more than any supplement on the market.

The exposure nobody accounts for

You breathe roughly 20,000 times a day, moving around 11,000 litres of air. Whatever is in that air is delivered directly to the alveolar surface — an area comparable to a tennis court, separated from your bloodstream by a membrane less than a micrometre thick.

No oral supplement gets that kind of access. The dose-response relationship that matters most for lung health is the one you are already running, every minute, without measuring it.

The indoor sources that matter

Second-hand and third-hand smoke remains the largest single indoor factor where present.

Wood and solid fuel burning — wood burning stoves produce substantial fine particulate matter, and indoor levels rise sharply during lighting and refuelling.

Gas cooking without extraction produces nitrogen dioxide, associated in observational research with respiratory symptoms, particularly in children.

Damp and mould is consistently associated with wheeze and respiratory symptoms. Occupational dust — silica, wood dust, flour, isocyanates — causes recognised occupational lung disease, and workplace protection is frequently inadequate.

What to actually do

Ventilate when cooking, every time, and use the extractor if you have one. Address damp at source rather than treating visible mould. If you burn solid fuel, ensure proper extraction and consider whether you need to at all. Check local air quality indices on high-pollution days and move exercise indoors when they are poor.

If you have occupational exposure, use the protective equipment properly — fit matters more than presence — and ask about health surveillance.

None of this is as satisfying as buying a capsule, which is precisely why capsules sell. But the effect sizes are not comparable, and one of the two approaches is free.

The dose arithmetic

No individual amounts are published anywhere — not on the sales page, not in the FAQ, and no Supplement Facts panel is displayed. That matters more here than it would in a simpler formula.

Three of these six ingredients have well-established effective ranges. Alpha lipoic acid is studied at 600 mg daily. CoQ10 research uses 100–300 mg. L-carnitine trials use 1,000–2,000 mg. Those three alone total roughly 1,700–2,900 mg.

A large size-0 capsule holds about 800 mg of powder in total, shared between all six ingredients — and magnesium glycinate is a bulky form, because the glycine that makes it gentle also makes it heavy relative to its elemental magnesium content. At least half this formula sits well below a researched amount. Which half is exactly what a published panel would tell you.

Independent background reading, none of it selling anything: MedlinePlus on dietary supplements, FTC health products compliance guidance and NIH Office of Dietary Supplements. For the applied version of this on our own pages, see the pathway audit or the Lungora official website reference.

What we would do

Take the ingredient list to a pharmacist before ordering — blood pressure, anticoagulant, diabetes and thyroid medication all intersect with this formula. Buy a peak flow meter and record a baseline fortnight before your first capsule so you have a number rather than an impression. Choose the three-bottle package rather than the six, since ninety days is a fair assessment window and it does not leave four months of capsules outside a 60-day guarantee. And diarise day 50 on the day you order.

How to verify any of this

Every claim above comes from a source you can check yourself: the official order page, the published guarantee terms, the manufacturer’s own artwork, or peer-reviewed literature on each named ingredient. Where an amount is not disclosed by the seller, we say so rather than estimating it. If you find something here that is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will re-check it and re-date the page.

Frequently asked

Three bottles if any. Ninety days is a fair assessment window for these ingredients and it keeps your spend closer to what the 60-day guarantee actually protects.

No complaint record was identified on the BBB, Trustpilot or comparable platforms — and no independent positive review record either. That absence cuts both ways.

No. All six actives — magnesium glycinate, alpha lipoic acid, butcher's broom, L-carnitine, turmeric and CoQ10 — are general antioxidant, circulatory or nerve ingredients. NAC, mullein, quercetin, vitamin C and bromelain are all absent.

No. No milligram amounts appear on the sales page or in the FAQ, and no Supplement Facts panel is displayed anywhere on the site.

About this article

Written and fact-checked against primary sources: the printed Supplement Facts panel, the official order page, the published return policy and peer-reviewed literature. Every claim touching dosing, interactions or contraindications is reviewed by Dr. Priya Raghunathan, PharmD, BCPS before publication. See our editorial policy.

Disclaimer. This formula contains butcher's broom, a vasoconstrictor that may raise blood pressure, and both turmeric and coenzyme Q10, which affect anticoagulation in opposite directions. Alpha lipoic acid lowers blood glucose. Take the ingredient list to a pharmacist before ordering, particularly if you take blood pressure, anticoagulant, diabetes or thyroid medication. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and Lungora is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Shortness of breath, a cough lasting more than three weeks, wheezing or coughing up blood require medical assessment rather than a supplement.
